At 150kg with 30hp the little Honda is ideal for getting out locally and definitely 3 steps forward Erik, 1 for the leg and 2 for the head 8-).
Keep on keeping on
Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

First tour on the Himalayan

Post by ErikGustav2 »

Today I took the first tour on the Himalayan.
It worked out well.
(A bit swollen. I will keep the leg high)
Happy day.

First ASB ride

Post by ErikGustav2 »

Toady was the first time in very long time that I could take part in an ASB event (Algarve Senior Bikers)

https://algarveseniorbikers.com

Around 40 senior bikers made a twisty ride in the mountains around Monchique

Adding the rides to the meeting point and home from the end point.
I was around 200 km in 4 h of riding.
The Himalayan is excellent for this type of rides.
And my modifications fits me well

Views. Early in the morning. On the way to the meeting point.

3 of us took an easy dirt road down from the end point.
Just to get an easy start in that area.

My legs are far from back to normal. But works good enough for easy torus. Taking it easy.
I am slowly getting there.
(Exercises every day. Hiking 3 days/week)

Recovery Milestone

Post by ErikGustav2 »

I have just complete a 6 days tour to Serra da Estrela.
The highest point in continental Portugal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serra_da_Estrela

Two days to get there. Two days to ride around in the mountains. Ad two days to get home
The weather forecast was perfect. So I had a chance and decided to give it a go.
Even I had preferred some more weeks of recovery.

I will write a report under the travel heading.

But here are some pictures

New MIle stone

Post by ErikGustav2 »

Yesterday I took part of :
=
RECCE RIDE – ADV Bikes
Tomorrow Friday 24th October
Potentially, as recce ride for an (easy/moderate) ASB Gravel Roads Group Ride
=

It was not many km,but many hours. Since most of the roads were very twisty.

The problem for me is that I have to sit all time(almost)
And not stand up and take the bumps with my legs.
=> Not ready to put much load on the knees, when they are bent.

Anyhow. It was a great day.

My bike was more than 20 years older than any other bike in that group.
Easy win in the rat-bike class

Some of the participants took some pictures and video
So I share some of the results
