Any van guys here? Looking to add more space in van

Post by jorrend »

I’m 6 ft tall, looking to buy a Sprinter van. Planning on sleeping across the van. The major sprinter van bump-outs producer charges $1,800 per pair, plus additional cost for painting. I'm sure they're great, but OMG, $2,500 is a lot of cash. Any other options out there?

That's a fair enough price. What about this > https://tentbox.com/?tw_source=bing&tw_ ... nt=TentBox

:? Surely adding 6" to the side of the van would cause problems using the side loading door? I know there isn't 6" clearance on my Vivaro.

It's tight space. Even with bump-outs. It depends a bit on the exact model. Personally I'd look into a Murphy bed, lengthwise. Or foldable.
