European Recovery Policy

European Recovery Policy

Post by Crossrutted »

Looking for recommendations for european breakdown/recovery insurance for a two week trip to Portugal & Spain.

RAC & AA seem very expensive, Green Flag declined due to age of bike (18 year old).

Best of luck mate , ever since brexit they don't want to touch us for recovery of older bikes..

I take my chance on my 2009 xt660z...its a yamaha ..

I'd be worried on a 2023 ktm lol..

I've heard that if the cost of recovery is more than the bikes value they write it off? Is that right?

They recoverd my ccm 644 from Portugal and that was a piece of worthless junk...but I'd be more worried of getting ktm spares lol..

Plenty of garages about in Spain and Portugal...I've been in a few lol...

But I've a xt660z now so it's indestructible lol..

Yes that's correct on the policy documents I reviewed - seems to be the common practice.

Hi. Life has been OK post enduro racing. Took up trail running/racing all round the UK - although it's been a bit slow the last few years due to needing surgery on my right knee and surgery due on my left knee next month. Got thrown a curveball two weeks ago when a fairly routine wrist operation got a bit complicated and I've ended up with nerve damage. Need to learn to use fingers all over again.

Was that carpal tunnel surgery John?

Had mine done 2 years ago , no numb fingers ...but now I've got osteoarthritis in right wrist carpal bones ...the thumb base is worse ..cartilage has all but worn away...have steriod injections but they don't last...

Old age sucks..

No. I had a ganglion. The sack had worked it way all over the place and crushed nerves.bit had also grown through and encapsulated nerve segments. Surgeon said he'd never seen that before. Removing it he cut some nerves but repaired them.
