The trick is never to keep a bike long enough that it needs maintenance.

But I do want a bike that doesn’t need a partial rebuild every weekend….been there, had that when I was impoverished.

But I love modern bikes.
I don't want to go back to Chokes.
I don't want to go back to Petcocks. That your friends turned off for you without letting you know. Or worse, put them on reserve.
I don't want to go back to Tubed Tires.
I don't want to go back to Air Cooled Engines.
I don't want to go back to carburators, that needs constant fiddling, and replacement of parts every few thousand meters of altitude.

I love my little Honda NX400, with all the above... Biggest issue IMO, is the issue of E10 fuel, which she hates. Managed 3500m in the Pyrennes OK, which is high as I will ever be going!! Better than a carbed Transalp in the Dolomites/Alps which was a coff coff experience now and then, like a 30 a day smoker

I don't want to lose the fuel gauge.
I don't want to lose the ABS.
I don't want to lose the Traction Control.
I don't want to lose the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
I don't want to lose the nice bright LED headlights.
I don't want to lose the Heated Grips.

I still don't get why we need engine kill switch.
