Suzuki DR250 Djebel

Hi all,

Looking at a 1993 Djebel as a part project bike but also my first green laner too...

Any advice or things to look out for would be great! Are they any good basically?

The DR 250 is Suzuki's TTR 250
The parts for DR 250's aren't as plentiful as parts for TTR's but they are in my opinion very good trail bikes, comfortable on the road and reasonably capable on the trails.

Very good bikes.

You will probably need to put some new wheel and suspension bearings in, and perhaps fork seals and bushes. Not particularly difficult to do.

Compared to modern bikes they are refreshingly free of electronic nonsense and all the grief it can bring.

I got offered a 2018 Himalayan for £1600 and couldn't say no. Going to make some mods on it but dead excited about having some fun on it!

Great bikes especially if you are not looking for too many modern day electrical gimmicks and at that price it's a bargain. They do have a few common faults but there's lots of information about solutions and are easy bikes to work on.
There are a couple of great Facebook groups, 1 is ran by a good dealer which has lots of useful information from owners and the other is ran by a guy who is passionate about trail riding/navigation rallies/meet ups/modifying etc again with lots of owner input. It's a great community.
