Resin drives VS centre stands

Post by Paul_C »

Just wondering if anyone out there has one of those resin drives?
I'm wondering how they hold up against centre stands, the occasional few drops of oil etc?
Just along for the ride.

Friend of mine used to install them for a living. They come in many forms. Properly prepared, installed by professionals, using high quality materials are practically indestructible.
But he has many stories of fixing improperly installed floors that barely lasted a week.

It depends too on what is under the resin. It is sometimes installed on tarmac and sometimes on concrete.

Centre stands are really a no go on tarmac in warm weather and the tarmac does not like oil either.

Have a pal that had a light petrol leak on his... and it lifted it. It needed a repair, and he now has a patch of slightly different coloured resin.
They look really good if you can guarantee no mishaps, but for the practical garage and motor enthusiast...
Trolley Jack/ Axle Stands / oil change basic maintenance might be a problem.
