Screen conundrum resolved.

Post by DavidS »

Powerbronze sports screen arrived this morning, fitted and a quick 10 mile circuit.
On the whole a success but with caveats.

Up to 40 it is totally silent, from 40 to 50 there is wind noise and it does increase above 50 but, for me, it doesn’t seem to get any worse, up to around motorway speeds so there is a definite but not substantial improvement. Nor could there be really if the screen is lower. Certainly not as intrusive.
Obviously more wind on my shoulders so I’m still pondering if the mirrors and/or the helmet peak are contributing. I will fiddle accordingly when it’s nicer out there. There is still a substantial reduction of wind pressure on my chest and I don’t feel like I was hanging on during overtakes like I was on my much slower accelerating Triumph.
General decision so far is small screen for summer as the breeze will be cooling, then switch to the original screen for winter where there are shorter and slower rides and the noise wouldn’t be so much of a problem.

Sorry about the forum software mucking around with portrait images.
