Hdpe sheet uses?

Post by Tramp »

Hello fellow engineers and bodgers...I'm thinking of making a cut down screen for the xt660z out-of black hdpe sheet 2mm thick..I've a screen but for offroad it's huge and replacement screens are crazy price..

So do you think 2mm isnthick enough...its just a short heigh screen with no wings to deflect water and rocks...

Thanks

4mm seems to be the standard.
Maybe try GP Kompozit?

2mm will be fine Russ, although Lexan would be better. If you can, introduce a slight curve or edge returns into the design (to stiffen it) so much the better

I used 1.5mm for the front part and 3mm for the sides on this.

more small stones and gravel thrown up by riders in front upto 30mm diameter...I try not to follow ktm riders too close as they like to roost lol

Tidy job that little fairing extension, Snaf. 👏
The actual headlight fit however...🤔

It's actually a 3l fuel tank, the light does need rethinking but seeing as it was a summer trip to Iceland, I didn't think I needed one.
