On the drink bladder subject I would agree with those who’ve said never add anything.
As for the water getting warm…’bath water’ isn’t my favourite either but it’s much better than dehydration.
Ice cubes in the bag at the beginning of the day can help for a while.
Blowing the warm water from the pipe back into the bladder is also a no no.

On road bikes then I have always used a tank bag and found them useful until it came to leaving the bike somewhere then it became something else to lug around ... for my XT660z then I use this little nifty bag, just for cards, change, to put my satnav and then just bob it in my rucksack when mooching about

I use a "medium size" tank bag.
1) I do some camping. So I take the opportunity to charge my power bank during riding. Pack in the bag, connected to USB port
2) with high risk for rain. I store my rains suite in there. To have fast access. And do not have to open any luggage
3) Map on the top of the bag. Not reading when riding. But I can just stop and look down. No need to open some bax.
4) Other small items that I want to have easy access to
For me, It is more about having easy access. Than extra space.

i use a small Motech tankbag to keep essential important stuff to hand The QR Mount is great as it keeps the bag off the tank and can be taken with you when you stop for a coffee. Ive had larger tankbags and are great to hide behind on long boring roads but they tend to get a bit top heavy as you always find more stuff to put in them.

Having tried both the magnet and strap on, can’t beat the SW Motect and QR tank ring combo.

Used my Wolfman clip on tank bag for over 15 years and wouldn't be without it. Clear pocket on top for maps/directions/ferry tickets, zip up pocket on the rear for sunglasses, hat/medicines/passports etc zipped in main section.
It also has a clip on shoulder strap for carrying around.
Also doubles up as a table for 'on the go' pastrys

Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

tank bags is good for putting small things in.
you can lean on it if you tired.
it can protect you from the wind a bit.
it can keep you belly warm.
some can hold maps, or satnavs, or phones.
good for light stuff like waterproofs or jumpers.
can house a usb and take charge while travelling.
you can look at porn pics while travelling.
you can zip it up quick if you see a coppa.
you can strap it to the cat, for some animal magnetism.
you can open and close them easy.
you can take them offa the bike if you come to welsh towns.
you will look important if you got one strapped to your bike tank.
o ... advice ???? ..... just put small things in them
pitchers of small bags for small things to store on top of a petrol tank ... not yet fitted btw ..

ps .. big things won't fit into a small tank bag.

I've gone back and forth with TB. I'm currently not using one. My favorite was by Mosko Moto. Not to big, layered for great organization. I just don't think I need one, so I put it on the shelf and sold it about a year later.

Gary and I first met that young lady when she gave us a nice wave when we stopped so she could cross the road outside Bath University.
I'm delighted that Gary has clearly got to know her a little better!
