Back down the other side and a right onto the B8000 at Otter Ferry, a great road that hugs the Sea Loch shoreline
Then its a right onto the A886 and back to the B836 and back to Dunoon - the rest of the party had let me know thay were heading to Loch Doon to wild camp there for the last night, so I would make my way there to join them. Will make a point to spend a bit more time in this area next time
Soa ferry back across to Gourock
And continued on to Loch Doon

Off the ferry and followed the main road south to the other side of Ayr, then inland to Dalmellington and the A713 to the entrance to the Loch. Another part of Scotland I had never been to - a very nice area and alot bigger than i was expecting. The rest of the group had already set up camp, opposite the ruins of Loch Doon castle
Nice views of the loch from the site
Another good nights craic, chat, music and wine in Heff's communal shelter

Re: Spain nil Scotland won
So Sunday, our last day. It was another wet night, but as luck would have it, the rain passed by the time we were ready to leave. From Dalmellington we took the B741 to New Cumnock, then the A76 to Sanquhar for a breakfast stop. Oplo took the lead from here and it was a left into the B797, to Leadhills then right on the B7040, crossed the A74 and ended up in Moffat for coffee - a great route
After Moffat it was back to Cairnryan, via the A701 and A75, with a detour to Portpatrick for a look around - a nice wee spot
Time to catch the ferry back to Northern Ireland
1390 miles by the time i got home & thanks to having nowhere booked in advance we managed to avoid most of the rain during the week.
Yet another great Scottish trip , with some new areas explored.-Hopefully Spain in 2021 & if not - Scotland is never too far away
