Looks very interesting. Basically the front half of an RSV4 engine - so it'll be highly technical with lots of rider-aid options, which will set it apart from the far simpler T7. Personally I'd be far more interested in the Tuono 660 variant, which could be a really good small hooligan bike if they get it right.

I've always liked Aprilias, having raced a Mille years ago. But i have far less experience with the more modern bikes, except seeing so many RSV4s being reprogrammed with laptops in pit garages at trackdays - yawn. It always surprised me that they didn't make a nice mid-size adventure bike out of the Shiver V2 750 engine, which could have worked IMO. The new parallel twin 660 unit could be perfect. IF they don't over-complicate it and IF they keep the weight down. Like so many of these projects, the weight so often creeps up until the bike turns into yet another whale. IMO it absolutely must come in lighter than a KTM 790 or what's the point?

Yeah, of course that's where they save some money and keep the cost down. The T7 seems like a bargain, and for many people who won't test the suspension to its limits it probably is. But if you need to spend €2k with Ohlins or Touratech etc to get the bouncy stuff working the way you really want, it starts to make less sense compared to bikes with quality shock/forks from the factory.

to be fair its has the ingrediants to be so much better ..but whoever signed it off with the present valving and spring ratings wants bitch slapping its a shame it could be way way better for no extra cost if they set up what they have properly ...accepting the weight there is very little else not to like

as a aside more on topic its good to see options appearing down the scale from the really big berthas ..seems more complexety more power more weight and silly prices chasing the gs coin has been the trend and in fairness the t7 has smashed that theory you only needed to look at the ques at the abr last year ..200 meter s for the yam stand and tumbleweed blowing over the rest ....... 200 ks better than 250 180 would be nice a500at 150 would be on the money for me ...
still the apprilia does look a nice bike
whats the wether forcast ..wheres me map

AP Workshops in Tamworth are the boys for Aprilia...and they aren't even franchised dealers.

Which is actually brilliant, because if there's an aftermarket solution that's better or cheaper than a genuine part, that's where they will steer you.

Thy've got a forum, facebook and even a YouTube channel. And they support their local dog home.

I rode a 450 enduro Aprilia V-twin once...I've never ridden such an exciting bike before or since.

But it made me feel like an unfit old bloke having sex with a 20-year-old gymnast...totally outclassed!
