During a recent TET camping trip with Dibbs and Oblix, I suggested to keep luggage weight/bulk to a minimum, as many items as possible should have more than one use.
What dual use items do you use/carry on your ‘Dual Sport’ bike?
My bead buddy worked as a ‘camels toe’ under the side stand in soft grass (until an empty crushed beer can became available)
My MotionPro rim protector doubled up as a mini chopping board.
Oblix’s airbed pump saved the day (and the sausages) to stoke a dying disposable BBQ.
My mid layer down jacket stuffed in an MX jersey made a reasonable pillow.
WD40 is a good tyre lubricant and helps start a camp fire (as will cotton pads dabbed in Vaseline).
Knee braces make an effective temporary support splint for a broken leg/arm.
Duct tape is good to kill warts.
HD cable ties to hold a flat tyre on a rim to get you home.
Fencing wire to link a broken chain.
A fabric conditioner bottle used as a hot (warm) water bottle on a freezing night then a pee bottle In the early hours.
A helmet makes a stable candle base...er no don’t try this or ask me how I know!
Any nuggets of inspired wisdom for a bit of fun?
Dual Use Items
Re: Dual Use Items
A best friend..... To share the laughs and trip with and also a shoulder to cry on when it all goes Pete tong....
Dental floss for teeth and as string...
Waterproof overtrousers.... Keep you dry and a knot in each leg makes a cool extra storage pannier over seat.

Wine bottles fit nicely in motorcycle boots, and boots tend to be more stable. If you are on really rough ground, tie two boots together with a bungee or luggage strap, then put your wine in one of them.

I have honestly never laughed so much at someone’s misfortune but being a best mate, I was laughing out of relief that he’d escaped a near death experience after his helmet and ground sheet ignited whilst asleep in his tent.dibbs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:06 amSome very good ideas there Chris!! the helmet candle holder is making me spit my tea as I recall the story of how you know that one lol....MotoCP wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:27 pm During a recent TET camping trip with Dibbs and Oblix, I suggested to keep luggage weight/bulk to a minimum, as many items as possible should have more than one use.
