Because of the current situation I've decided not to go over to Europe on the bike this year. What I am thinking of doing is the Lands End to John O Groats ride. Maybe take a week to do it stopping in campsites and the occasional bunkhouse. To make it interesting I would prefer to miss motorways as much as possible. Does anyone have a ready route made out that I can follow please? I could of coarse check out Google Maps etc but I would like to follow a route that's proven to be interesting. Any help gratefully received.

I would start by looking at some of the LEJoG cycle routes. I think some of the sites have gpx files. Obviously opt for the road route rather than the off-road cycle route.

Recommend the CTC now Cycling UK scenic route.
Did it a few years ago on my bicycle about 1000 miles on mainly backroads. Only tricky bit was the Chester Manchester area.
In fact might give it a go again next year on the W800?

Either the online webpage for planning and uploading to your device or on the go with a smartphone app. I've used it in the UK and across Europe. Always seems to find great roads and it can be fine tuned to suit your needs.

Now there's a thought. If you decide to go for it next year me and my mate would be up for that. I ride a VStrom 650 and Boydy, my mate, has several bikes. Would be interested to know your thoughts.
