Today I reached for 90s indie guitar bands. Including: Kula Shaker, Ocean Colour Scene, The Waterboys and....

As I've been working from home during the lockdown, I've been listening to Scala Radio every day.

Haven't listened to any of their stuff for ages. I've got a copy of Drastic Plastic upstairs, which was a bit different to the previous prog-rock sound but I quite like it. Bit more Bowie influenced.

There's a kind of trend on facebook right now, during the lockdown, to recommend an album that influenced you a great deal, or which shaped your appreciation of music in some way.

So I'm going for The Velvet Underground and Nico, with its infamous Warhol banana.

Brian Eno once said that although this album only (initially) sold 30,000 copies, "everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies started a band".
