Decided to do a test of the Monkey’s longer distance comfort and economy yesterday so headed out from Bristol, over to Chepstow, took the Usk road up to Abergavenny then the heads of Valley road to Ystradgynlais and popped into Touratech whilst there.
From there took the mountain road across to Llandovery and back via Brecon, Abergavenny, Raglan and Chepstow.
Total mileage was 186 miles, and monkey ran like a dream! That seat is probably the most comfy I’ve sat on and the perky little engine kept going along back roads and motorways alike.
The 5.6 litre tank is a blessing too as it still returned 150mpg for the run so can theoretically get 180 miles to a tank which means range is good.
The only annoying bit was when the guy at Touratech found out I rode a Monkey and C90 had to ask the question: ‘So have you not got a full licence then?’ 😮😂😂😂

I've read many times about the z125 super comfy seat. I must try my local dealers demo.

:D GPS speed:
Top 65mph, but may be slightly better as engine loosens up, but that is really pushing it.
I’d say 45mph is a nice comfy speed on that

2 questions for the tiny bike guys, well 3 really.

1. I'm after some slightly more 50/50 tyres than the crap Chinese ones I've got on ATM but I'm struggling to find a rear, it's a 120/80/16  any suggestions? Best looking I've found so far are the anlas winter grip 2's.

2. Anyone fancy a tiny bike run to the dragon rally next year? I'm tempted to take the little chinky 125.

And the third one, talking of the dragon anyone know how the hell you get tickets

Hoping to get my dad looking tiny bike put soon now the skip has gone from my drive, I might just be able to get it through the scaffolding :o

If there’s no change from previous years then it’s send two stamped self addressed envelopes and a cheque to the address they use. It may be worth emailing to check they have tickets left as it sometimes sells out.

Sorted out my luggage carrying capacity for the Monkey for next year. Should hopefully give me enough for four weeks away 👍
