A write up and some photos from a run to Strontian on my old K75.
As always it's on my blog.

All feedback is welcome.

Cheers.

Agreed, it was a bit nippy yesterday. Good to see some blue sky though. I had a very pleasant ride in the Peak District.

Enjoyed reading the blog and have to agree its been really cold this week.
Didn't envy you with the light going riding from Glencoe to Strontian.
I've been out a couple of days this week on my Himalayan but only get as far as Perthshire.
Look forward to one of your summer rides if you are still doing them next year.

Great report and pictures as usual. Love Scotland. That wee road going down the Etive Glen is lovely.

Got out yesterday myself, a wee bit cold but great to be out.

Cheers for the positive feedback guys.
Flintlock, I'm loving the reflection you got on the water in your photos.
Crofty, how are you finding the Himalayan? I've got a pal who is considering one as his first bike.

Mike the Himalayan is a great wee bike for knocking about on, it does have its niggles best revealed on the Himalayan Owners UK page on facebook.
For a first bike its cheap and has a 2 year warranty as long as you get it serviced. ( every 3k). But if it was to be my only bike i would use my 4k on a nice low mileage cb500x instead. On the positive side they don,t depreciate much, maybe a 2nd hand one for 3k would be a good choice for your pal

I've had my share of niggles. sticky calipers, misting up clocks and now a wee leak in rocker cover/cyl hd. Cheap and cheerful, i use mine for UK tours and I am up to 10k in the first year. Like you I have a bigger bike for tours farther afield.

it can work out expensive and inconvenient, i opted to do my own and put the savings towards spares, oil, tyres etc

Crofty, that's pretty much what I said. There's Transalps too for less money. Still, for a brand new bike the Himalayan isn't too bad.
Your oil leak may be the head gasket. Apparently it's a fairly common thing to go at your milage but a straight forward fix.
