Making early plans for some trips next year on my recently purchased 800. I’ll be needing some off road biased rubber to tackle the HardAlpi so if anyone has any TKC’s or Annakee Wilds surplus I’ll be interested.
I was going to buy new but after it tried to kill me over the weekend when it rained I’ll be spending on new road tyres for now
Thanks

Re: 50/50 tyres for an F800Gs
I like the way the K60 Scouts looked after me on my F8GS on the two occasions I've popped down to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales this year - Dodd Fell, Cam Road High, Stalling Busk plus a good few more around the Lakes.
I've used Mitas E09 Dakars on a F650GS Twin and found the wear rate to be a bit excessive (but I did go the long way to & from the Paddy Dakar via some forest tracks in Dumfries & Galloway on the way) on them
Just my mutterings.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m pretty open to what to fit, Scorpion Rally STR’s seem a good shout too but unsure if the are up to doing theHardAlpi, particularly of it rains.
Currently it has Tourance which may well be original fit as they've done 10K. Like Bakelite. Halfway through first ride at the weekend when it rained - every bend the front slid. Tracked on every banding and white lined repeatedly. Terrifying

For the hardalpi I used a 644 army special up front and a EO9 on the back, would say worked well for me but would probably go more aggressive if did it again. The best thing was fitted mouse's as there's so many sharp rocks in alps, one less worry, especially at night. Hope this helps Mike.

Cheers Steve, it does. Not sure about the mousses as planning to ride some twisties getting down there and back...might cook them. Might have to be STR’s and ride the Alpi slowly

You'll have a great time, I did, it's not a timed race as such as long as you finish within your time, and we had loads of time to spare and wasn't pushing it. The mouse's held up well, and we were giving it some on the way back, first time I've used them on road and they were great.
