Yamaha/Belgarda TTR600RE Steering Lock

Post by johnnyj »

Hi folks

My steering lock for the above bike is bust (nothing dodgy!) and I would like to replace it. Here in Greece I can't find anything similar, and Yamaha want around 250 Euros for a new one, with key.

Anyone know if it was used on a more common bike, or have one? Long shot, I know.

Many thanks

John

when I phoned totally ttrs a few years ago, the guy said he only dealt with ttr250

my belgarda had a key that didnt seem to work the lock .. so I didnt use the steering lock.
Sourcing bits was very difficult or rather, impossible .. as it is an import .. Italian, licenced to Yamaha, but now the firm is out of business.

Thanks Gary and Hugh for your replies. Yep, sourcing parts is very tricky. I did already try Totally TTRs and although the owner (Steve, I think) was just incredibly helpful, he didn't have the parts and indeed really does only deal in 250s. Hugh, thanks so much for the link to the Trooper Lu website - that's the first time I have seen the lock assembly listed as available. I'll make contact and check to see that they have it.

I did also find this link on ebay, but I have to take some measurements. That's not so easy as (a) the bike is in Greece and I am in the UK at the moment and (b) the lock innards themselves are missing so I don't have much to measure. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323764537880

All the best and thanks again

John
