Another bike birthday. 10 happy years together.

Post by OnHellas »

I did a Happy Birthday bike thread last year when he was 9.
Since then we’ve only added one more country, New Zealand, but also 9 more states of the US. That’s 46 countries together on 4 continents.
The mileage has risen by 27,142 To 118,342 so a few services have been carried out, new tyres and other consumables fitted.
No lay downs or breakdowns...thankfully.
A few more dirt roads have been ridden and a couple of sessions of a trackday completed.

Overall the last 12 months have been a blast.
Thank you bike. Happy 10th Birthday.

This years celebration will be to attempt to ride from here, Alaska, to Halifax in Nova Scotia. 6000 ish miles.

I'm quite new on here so didn't see your ninth anniversary, can you tell me, what's the bike please? Hope you have many more safe and enjoyable onward journeys together x

A valid question. Sorry I left that piece of all important information out.

It’s a BMW F800GS. Bought new by me in 2009.

Thanks for the good wishes.

They are good machines, aren't they :D

Not got anywhere near the mileage on the four F8GS's and one F650GS twin I've had that you've covered on yours, but I do like racking up the miles on the beasts

safe riding and thanks for sharing your multi continent travels with us work-locked individuals  ;)

Hey Paul, many happy returns to your GS :) The XJR you sold me had its 20th not that long ago but has only racked up a paltry 40k miles, pretty much unused for the last 12 yrs.

Any pictures of the birthday bike? They're some impressive figures from an awesome sounding trip

There you go. This one was taken last week on Hatchers Pass in Alaska. A great ride in a lovely day with some super people.
