My wish for the Ténéré 700

Post by OB1 »

I was having a bit of a play around with an image of the new Ténéré 700 in Photoshop today. I think that the new colour schemes are a bit flat compared with the original 600, so I came up with this concept.

I like it too, well done! Classic blue/yellow Yamaha colourway - maybe for next year's model.

I've ordered a white/red T7 as this is also classic Yamaha colouring. The one bit I'm not too keen on, aesthetically, is the black panel on each side of the tank, which effectively breaks up the whiteness of the whole tank. I'm thinking of maybe having the black panels sprayed white as it will look better IMO. Can I take the liberty of inviting you to do this digitally as I'm sure it will look rather better than my rough attempt using Tippex on the paper copy I've printed!!? If you can, many thanks in advance!

I'll see what I can do tomorrow, Mark.

My first bike was a white Yamaha RD50 M with the red speed block. :D

Love the 'King Kenny' colourway. Sometimes regret selling my XJR1200 with a similar paint job (it was the original factory paint for the SP version, except for the black side panels & front fender which were retro-painted to match).

Yeah, exactly. Yam's speedblock has always worked well, across loads of different bikes. Bold graphics work well on bikes. After all, we don't do it to be careful and dull, do we? We ride bikes to make a statement and shout a bit about how much fun there is to be had with a bit of danger chucked in.
