Anyone fancy a few trails

Post by zimtim »

Short notice I know but does anyone fancy doing a few trails in and around Salisbury plain this weekend.
Either Saturday or Sunday
Due to family issues this may be my last Rideout for a while

My CRF250L is now gorn.

Now got a ktm ebike :)

Rode it 30 miles from thunderroad in bridgend
The motor only seemed to work properly on the last mile.
Perhaps that's why it took me 5 hours of torture .. but fab when it worked. Will test again this weekend
Paul C .. are you intending to ebike Salisbury plain
Paul L .. yep. Thunderroad came through again
at a price.
Hedgey . see above :)

Okay so no takers. Still gave me.chance to do a ride I have had the hankering to do for a long time.
Image
Started out at Fordinbridge a few lanes near the gallops met up with a couple 4x4
Image

From there up on the OX drove why do I do it myself this is not an easy trail especially as the recent rain had made it slippy and added to that the wet grass.
A mild downpour had made conditions even worse, what is up with our forecasters can't get jack right
From there up to Shaftesbury drove
Image
From Shaftesbury time to refuel before heading on to the plain and the whoops. Nearly had a head on with some bloke on Yamaha xtz coming down the whoops on the right hand track I always try sticking left especially on blind bends

You know the ruts are deep when you bike stays upright ImageImage

Image
Time for a little lunch break, main order of the day a healthy dose of painkillers
Image
Picture does show just how steep this section is

After lunch found this trail I have never used it before rest assured I won't use it again makes the ox drove look like a walk in the park.
Totally overgrown couldn't see a damn thing riding by braille.

Picked up some extra weightImage

Soon time to head on Bulford
Still very dry round that area the ford is still dry sorry no pics

After Bulford
Image
Head toward Portion Down and finally the ttrails towards Motisfont and home
Image
All in 175 miles from door to door and just over 8hrs.
Think the fan on the rad needs replacing as.that has started being very noisy.

A good day and another ride of the listImage
