Hi All
Please note that the petrol station in Settle will close from 15th June for a period of 17 weeks.
A real pain for those who need some go go juice when visiting the Dales this summer. If you don't know the area, fuel is available at/near
From the West (A65 from the M6) Kirkby Lonsdale, Ingleton (Ingleton is the nearest filling station to Settle)
From the North ... Hawes!!
From the East ... Skipton
From the South ... Gisburn (on A59 near cxattle market)
Also, West and North Yorkshire councils have loads of notices about warning of up comming road gravelling, (sorry, I mean resurfacing!)
Ride safe

Your post 1 makes it sound that the Dales are devoid of petrol ....just because one station in Settle is being refurbished
Just fill up elsewhere

Re: FUEL IN THE DALES
It gets a 6p per litre rebate as it's in a designated area, for fuel tax relief like the Highlands & Islands, whereas 10 miles down the road at Aysgarth it's 1.40 per litresven wrote:The fuel in Hawes is much cheaper as it’s run by a local cooperative.
£1.22 per litre for unleaded, which is much cheaper than Settle or Ingleton
Being a trail rider we tend to know every fuel stop in the Dales
