Tragically we have now lost Roger Charlerey (Ranking Roger) of The Beat (and sometimes the Specials etc). Saw them several times at festivals. Probably my favourite ska band. He was only 56 years old FFS...

Sad, sad news when I heard that. The Beat used to come to Cox's Yard in Stratford upon Avon quite a lot, so I've seen them a good four or five time - always thought they were excellent (and I was only 15-16 when I was seeing them!).

Today though, I've been listening to something bizarre. Mongolian metal that I was tagged in on Facebook... but now I can't stop listening to it. It's so unique and has such a cool sound to it!

Having a hippy breakfast this morning. So a bit of Donovan, Cat Stevens etc...

Where I grew up in Windsor, I wasn't aware that Donovan actually lived around the corner and I ended up one night as a 17-year old at a house party. Lots of grass and good music. He got out his guitar and gave us a few songs. Brilliant. Great memory.
