The perks of marshalling, get to sit on the side of a misty hill freezing my balls off, wouldn't change anything though :)

Greetings,

I would have preferred to have been out riding today to take a photo but still no spark on the Serow stopped that.

Over the past few weeks I have had the alternator and magneto coils replaced, pulled the wiring apart, soldered 'push' together connections and rechecked everything. On Friday last I fitted the last new Yamaha CDI in captivity, expensive, but still no real spark. Finally I have just removed the pulse coil which I am sure must be the problem even though the resistance reading is within specification. I made a test “flywheel” out of a bolt, put it in an electric drill, held it next to the pickup and found that I got hardly any AC voltage so I will probably send it off for a rebuild tomorrow. The magnet has very little strength. Fingers crossed.

Anyway here's my picture for today.
