Rust treatment
Rust treatment
I have always used rust remedy when treating surface rust on my vehicles but have never been 100% satisfied with the results. I was wondering if anyone on here has experience of a treatment they were happy with and would recommend?

Re: Rust treatment
I've always used Jenolite's products especially in my car rally years.

Re: Rust treatment
A lot of these products continue to react long after application and bubble paint that has been applied over them.
Best solution....remove as much rust as you can mechanically and apply one of the 'rinse off' products on what's left.

This is for the gutter of my 72 VW camper and I have opted for the barrier type to provide longer lasting protection. It is supposedly able to be painted directly onto.Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 9:10 pm A lot of these products continue to react long after application and bubble paint that has been applied over them.

Re: Rust treatment
Bilt Hamber do (did?) an awesome zinc based primer. For the size of the tin it is bloody heavy.
Mainly because it has something ridiculous like 90% zinc content.
Treated the chassis of my Discovery2 with it when I first bought it (2nd hand) and never had any rust appear
on it.
