We descend into the lowlands direction Marrakech
You can see the mountains in the back ground that we have just left
The campsite in Marrakech along with a day off to fettle the motos and sight see.
Camping Le Relais de Marrakech at

They have chalets to rent too if need be.
This site is a great cross over point for overland travellers........
Great idea...DAF ex army truck and a caravan mounted on to it.......you can pick these up for a couple of grand in the UK....they've four tyres/wheels so I think they're classed as a van kind of thing?

Re: EDC 2018 Maroc Africa, Ride Report.
We set up camp and a couple of others opt for the chalets.....and we go over our motos
Steve will go into the city centre later to see if he can source a chain kit from a company that rents out CRF`s
The BMW gets fettled over the next two days....filter etc
As do others.....
There are the odd birds that dander around freely......

Re: EDC 2018 Maroc Africa, Ride Report.
Some head into the city centre and I decide to laze about.......I order a bottle of red and dinner and get reacquainted with the staff.
The next day we head in to Marrakech to see if there's an update ref the chain kit. The CRF thinks it might need a front tyre.
We'll ride to a moto shop to see if it has one in stock and to also see if on the off chance it has a chain kit that might do the CRF...
The moto shop is like a European one and stocks some tyres and the usual clothing etc...but no chain kit.....a tyre is purchased.
Shop is here in an industrial zone

From here we head into the city centre to see about a chain kit. Nope...hasn't arrived yet from Casablanca. If it doesn't arrive the rest of us will have to head on the next morning to keep on schedule.
At the same time an oil leak in noticed on the BWW......
Oil feed hose is leaking and needs to be cut shorter and pressed back on in a street repair. Maroc will exploit every part of your moto.
We head back to the campsite and get sorted for leaving the next morning.
Some will go into the city centre ( they can post pics if they so wish, feel free ) and I slob about in the gardens eyeing up a hammock.
After a spell I order a bottle of red and take my time in the heat to eat dinner. The food here is good.

Thanks for the ride reports Keith!
Chubby checks the local Grindr talent while the rest of us tuck into another tasty tajine! Great rooftop restaurant in Marrakesh main square.

Re: EDC 2018 Maroc Africa, Ride Report.
We crew up and get ready to head north east and to head back to Europe. Steve will stay and source a chain kit and make his own way north to the ferry port. The weather will become inclement on our 330km ride from Marrakech to Khenifra and to where I know an hotel that will be in the town centre and not at all tourist.......real Maroc again.
We get soaked and check the weather when we stop to find that it will be wet over the next few days.
We stop at a garage I know that will have good parking outside the coffee house that is there too...a short run in the rain over to get warm.
Angus takes a pictures of a lamp......it seems to make him more happy for some reason.
We arrive at the hotel and check in..... secure interior parking and with no breakfast but we can buy that opposite. We try to dry our kit and head out for a dander around the town after we buy street food.
Hotel El Karma . 140MAD per night...clean and with a goofy intermittent shower this time....last time all was OK with the shower.

Khenifra....
This is another reason why you never need to stock up on too much food thus weight and bulk in your luggage....you can buy what you need on the hoof.....locals have to eat too.
Angus pulls the chair up to watch TV......I let him sit there for a few minutes telling him one of the old ones that have to warm up...... only then do I tell him it's an old petrol pump.
After a long spell in the sand at this point in the proceedings we argue over which dummy is nicer looking.......
