Just had notification from TET guys that the section i downloaded round Albi was updated two days after i loaded it  so thats the reason there was so much road work

The day was closing in and a storm threatened so headed for a campsite ......with cabins for the boys  , i bolloxed it up and turned the wrong way .........but it was worth it passed through this massive natural tunnel

The campsite at Le Petit Pyrenees didn't have any cabins and the nearest hotel was in Foix and the storm had hit , Foix was 35mins away so i decided to join them at the Balladins Foix with a Buffalo Grill next door ..........................so feck it i pigged out on meat

After a night of gluteny and drink we all slept well and set of the 35mins back to the big cave / tunnel to continue with the TET and dissapointed we weren't :D in fact we ended up doing the muddy section again .......i had a bit of a brain frat , blame the meat and beer !!!

Soon got back into it and the weather was kind to us , the trails were old farm tracks in the most but proper washed out and some so overgrown they were hard to find ....................... but find them we did

This doesn't show how tight it was but this is where i did a half monty after a bee joined me in my body armour !!! see Bobs pic if you're brave enough

Image20180829_105504 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Lots of wooded trails , great fun and popped out near this "SNAIL MUSEUM" !!!!!! yep i know , odd to say the least but only brew spot for miles

Image20180829_114053 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Realy nice folk , we only had a coffee but they do Tapas aswell .......................where was it Bob

Image20180829_114117 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Wasn't long before we entered cross rutted world

Image20180829_171606 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Its been said many a time but you can't tell how bad they were and the pics show the easiest

Image20180829_171600 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

If you can zoom in you can see Bob navigating one of the trenches

Image20180829_171557 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

The guys wanted a hotel again or a cabin but we found nothing but camp sites , id planned on camping all the way so not bothered but poor Bob got eaten to bit by mozzies

"""""" I just relised that i've missed a WHOLE DAY !!! and a bloody good one it was , i'm writing this using photos as memory jerkers !!! and for some reason that days pics haven't turned out
It was a proper day aswell high tight forest trails somesingle track and up with the windwills , met a crazy lady living in a knackered camper , looks like shes been there for years !!!

Anyway back to it , the campsite owner said there were 4 bars in town and it was only 2mins away .......so off we set and after not seeing anymore buildings in 5mins we turned back to the site where the owner .....marche !!!! non avec la moto !!!!!

So we did a Cardinal sin and rode into town in our casual evening wear  Great meal great beer ........where was it Bob ???? but riding home in the dark with a glow worm for a light was proper shite

Morning took us back into town then the next for a cake !!!! and a brew .........................now the funny coloured fizzy night water has a profound effect on my morning navigation skills  ended up going the wrong way up the TET as we'd it all but eneded here and i'd routed us north on the GR654 !!! anyway had to cross the nice bit twice

And up here

Image20180830_092841 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Down here

Image20180830_092944 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

And so many more .......................the TET is great well worth doing but IMHO you can't beat the GRs

Around this point 4.00pm we were around 2hrs from home and the boys chose to road it back rather than another night out , it was piggin red hot and the GRs are a lot tougher than the TET so i agreed knowing that it would take another day to do the GRs home and anyway i live here so will be going back .....................soon......

Getting back to ours Bob and Steve stayed in the Shack and we chilled out with beer and pizza untill the heady hours of 9.30    eberyone was knackered and went to bed

All in all superb trip , great company , no bad offs no brake downs , fantastic trails and scenery....................i will be back

FULL TRIP 6 days

Great report and photos Phil, it's a great route the TET. Thanks for posting.
We did Carcassonne south and across into Spain, then along skirting the Pyrénées, earlier this year.
Looks like you had great weather for it.
Some great trails on the TET in France & Spain..
