Yeah, it's great the way you've lined the pics up, Ade. You've matched up the modern view with the old photos almost perfectly. Must be tricky to do sometimes, without getting run over or whatever!

I really love these merging pictures that people have started doing, especially of wartime europe. Really chilling some of them:

I tend to go early in the morning. Which isn't the best light for the photos but the roads are quieter and makes for a nice ride.
The challenge is getting the bike in the photos.
I'm itching to get back to Normandy soon. I've still got loads of wartime photos to take over there.

A brilliant project and a great way to give an extra purpose to a ride or holiday.
Excellent stuff...I need to slump in a comfy chair on a rainy day with a beer or 20 and go through them properly.

There are some urban setting ones from Birmingham here

There's one of the BSA factory as was (1968) and is now which is worth looking at.

Most of the motorbikes in the 1968 pic are actually Hondas, I think! Even then, the writing was on the wall...all the profit BSA had made in the 1950s had been spent on gold-plated Daimler cars and nice dresses for the infamous Lady Docker.
