Long Way Up

Post by Nicoli »

So I know Ewan and Charlie can be a touchy subject for some but for those who enjoyed LWD/LWR for what they were.

Charlie's twitter suggests Long Way Up may actually be coming after all this time.

Ewan doesn't look happy in the phone box pic!--and he has a useful career unlike the others who probably need the money-and I can't stand that pretentious tw"% Boring---now if it was Ewan and Guy Martin that would be fun as guy is definitely getting good at the presenter thing--wearing the same work trousers all over the world!--loved the Russian visit.

Yeah I enjoyed both many times over. And they are what got me back onto the idea of owning a bike. I'd had a scooter as a teen and always planned to get a bike but got bought a car and it all sort of fell by the wayside. LWR/LWD put motorbikes firmly back on the agenda for me.

Long Way Up. So I guess that means Tierra Del Fuego to Alaska ?

On GS1200s ?

Like to see them haul those through the Darien Gap ! Quick sea trip I imagine, like most other peeps.

Could be good. I don't particularly mind the fact that their trips involve support vehicles etc. At the end of the day it is hard to make a good travel film with high production values without lugging a lot of gear around. There are loads of amateur helmet-mounted Go-pro vids on youtube, and anything done by Ewan/Charlie has to be much more polished than those or there's not much point and they would not attract the finance/backers.

Personally I really think they should use Husqvarna 701s this time.

Would be a good way to launch the KTM790R.

If it happens would be nice to see them on Triumph Tiger 800's. Charlie is the Triumph "celeb" at their launches.
Fly the flag and all that.
