Took a little time out today, headed out towards Fordingbridge and hit a few greenlanes

Man is it dry
Soon got onto the infamous OX Drove, I did bits of it years ago so thought I would try it from the other end.

Not too bad a bit overgrown
Soon found Tramps puddle walked part of sank up to my ankles within a couple of steps time to find alternate route. Not one too tackle in the winter

Even the path on the side is too overgrown and rutted for a big bike especially on your own
Get back on the track and it is soon really overgrown you can only see a few feet in front of you so going was slow

Get back on to tarmac and see these two trying to get up but not enough lift

OX drove
Re: OX drove
Good move on not trying that rut to the left of the puddle. I got the XTR wedged in there and had to drag it out but ended up face planting in the stinging nettles. The Plain is a dust fest at present. Nice pics

Nice one Tim, I've never seen it as dry as that. I did a local lane on the way to work today (Whidcombe Brake ), not a single puddle, just total dust

Re: OX drove
Late to the party but nice to see some pics of the 'Drove.
Must say though that despite being "on my patch" I hardly ever use it! Well, the token once a year, but its either very rutted, or overgrown depending on the season and has limited appeal.
Anyway one of your pictures reminded me of one I took in 2009 on the same lane:
And yes, it sure is dry out there!
