Just back from a bit of a wander up north in Scotland, great weather, great scenery and many fellow bikers about.
You can have a great time without taking the ferry to the continental shores.

Indeed.I live in the north east of Scotland and often take myself off to the west coast for the weekend. If you get the weather it's as good as anywhere in Europe....but it's a big 'IF'! I'm lucky enough to be able to look at the weather forecast and make the decision on the day to go or not.I'm not just a fair weather biker but if you can save your weekends away to warm, sunny ones why wouldn't you?
There's still no beating the anticipation of two weeks riding on the continent with almost guaranteed sunshine and warmth for me though.Ok,so I'm going to Norway this year so can't guarantee either but it's still "foreign'

We're having great weather at the moment, long may it last, and here in Cheshire is as good as anywhere that I've been to.
OK not quite on par with Europe but still very nice. 8-)

i agree, but there is also that nice feeling you get when you ride off the boat or chunnel, knowing youve got the whole of europe in front of you. j

This season is very nice in Europe, it is not too hot or too cold. I really love it  everyone should spend time to travel and rest.

Just back from Stromnachlacher pier on loch katrine, absolutely brilliant, the loch was like a sheet of glass, very hot, pushing 31 degrees.
