Happy with them
Now I have too many again and logistics get tricky so that pisses me off
But the bikes are fine
Only dilemma is do I sell the XR400 ?
Had 2 days trail riding on it last weekend and it was fab - covering nearly 300 miles
Washed it Sunday night
Left in garage for 4 days until yesterday and thought I'd check the oil
So turned on the fuel ️ and flicked on the choke
Got her to TDC and gave her a kickstart
Fired right up first kick and settled into a nice tickover and flicked choke off

Can't argue with that ...Who needs electric start ?

Checked oil and level hadn't moved

Hope this ktm turns out as good

I Just fitted a mikuni pumper carb on mine and its transformed the bike, no more bogging down when you whack the throttle open, it just takes off like a rocket ship. It's turned the bike into a one kick wheelie machine.

Off to BMW dealer tomorrow for a new rear subframe to replace the rusty paint flaking mess that mine has become.

Husky FE450 for trail riding is staying.

I had decided to sell my ‘67 Triumph as my dodgy knee makes it hard to start and I was looking at a Street Twin Triumph but having ridden one yesterday and then the T120 Bonneville, it looks like the 690 Enduro will go as well so I can get the Bonnie. For me, now, there is no point in having two road bikes.

Happy with my small fleet... my KTM 990 adventure has been in bits pretty much all winter but is now back on the road and booked up for its 3rd Euro trip this summer. I doub't I'll be getting rid any time soon.

Also just picked up a new Street Triple RS last month which is a lovely fun wee bike to ride for those sunny weekends.

How about the crf250 rxl or is that too enduring orientated?

fab bike i have two mates with them but they are a short hop bike or van job due to the sevice intervals nd short ratio gears but for more difficult stuff they are in a differnt leage ,,,, i disregard what others say ive had mine in some pretty tough places ..replace the suspension and it becomes far more compliant if you look at the ractech rear on this crf and you can see by the rebound control its not half bad it is what it is but the small first gear will climb pretty much anything the uk trails can throw at it

On that kinda terrain (which looks insanely good) the soft suspenders on the L or Rally are never going to be a bad thing. Slow speed, keep the wheel on the ground, grip grip grip.
As we all know it's the quicker stuff that shows their limitations.
Hornet is nigh on blaming other owners for his dislike of his own bike! Mental but quite amusing

Happy with my Bikes ? Most definately but ........................

My 2009 GS1200 is too heavy for anything other than mile munching (which it does faltlessly) commuting to and from the Uk.
The 2014 690 Enduro is a blast, I love its raw power but for round here in Brittany its too much reallly, better suited to being back in Blightey where I ride to Bunkhouse weekends and trails. Whereas my 1993 DR350 Enduro is perfect for blatting about here, an requires no effiort to ride or maintain. But my Adventurised 1998 DR650 SE (The Donk) is by far the most versatile for everyday use, great on trails, good enough for 8hrs on roads, but its currently in the UK

With the TET looming in a months time I am going to have to do a swap around, and I am leening toward the DR650

Very happy with my several now-ageing machines. Funny isn't it, now being in a position to have any bike/s there's really nothing I fancy. Except perhaps a nice Triumph TR7T Tiger Trail. With only 180 made, I'm not too hopeful but let me know if you hear of one........
