Are you happy with your Bike(s)?

My Varadero (2009) does me fine for the longer range trips. Though I find it a handful in the corners due to the weight and front end vagueness.
The CX500EC (1983) hasn't been out from under the cover in over a year. It's not likely to be for some time as I don't have the time to finish it and the garage is crammed.
SWMBO still loves her GSX1400 (2006) but needs to get out a bit more. It's all setup for touring, we just need to find the time to go somewhere.
The little TTR250 (2004) is my favourite bike. Have a hoot on it blasting around, sticking the tail out and you're only doing 35mph. The perfect trail tool for me.
Lastly there is the ever dreary XJ600N (1996) Crap and boring when it was new and it hasn't got anymore exciting over the years. Bought as a commuter bike in good nick, it's currently very crud covered but Acf50'd regularly so should scrub up fine.
But with an imminant change of jobs I shall be commuting a far shorter distance, cycle or just get the bus. The XJ600n will be up for sale and I can move around in the garage then, maybe even work on the CX500?

I sold the GS800 a good while ago, the GSA got punted 6 months ago for the Ducati 950 Multistrada. The Ducati is a better (Smoother) motorway bike, which suits my Lancashire-Cheshire commute more, plus its road performance is a bit better.
I still think the GS(A)800 is a more rounded do-it-all bike than the Duke.

Absolutely agree! Also the Ducati hasn't lasted the winter commute as well as the F800.

I'm a convert to the mountain bike scene, especially eMTB's. They're ideal for the trails around here (edge of the Peak District) which are all being converted from BOATs to bridleways at best.

Me too, as of last week, I’ve bought a Specialised Turbo Levo FSR Fattie, even thinking of selling my underused Beta Alp 4.0.
Which edge of the Peak District are you? I’m about a mile off of Houndkirk Road.

I had a 2005 Varadero. A very underrated bike, one of the comfiest tourers I’ve had and probably the reason why I clocked up so many miles on it. I still miss it sometimes but then I remember the weight of it especially tanked and loaded for touring. I dropped it once in the garage and it pinned me against the work bench, I had to wait for my wife to get back from shopping and get some help.

I only have one bike - a 2013 Bmw GS1200. Perfect for touring and two up, but wit circumstances changing I will be doing less of that and more short runs. Still want adv bike comfort and road presence but the weight of the GS when shifting it around is an issue. Possibly looking at a mid weight adventure next, but they keep getting porkier!

Another one with a Varadero. Its about the only bike that is big enough for me at 6 foot 3, and low enough for my 5 foot 2 wife to climb on.
Great comfort, great tourer. Good presence on the road. And can shift a bit when you want to do some miles.
But bloody heavy. Dropped it up the Grossglockener - took two to lift it.
Best of all it has rarity value - not one of a certain nameless herd.

I'm t'other side in Marple. There's so many trails around Lyme park and Roman Lakes + canal towpaths I'm out twice a week and hardly ever done the same route twice

I listened to, too many people going on about how great it is and it really isn't.
Poor build quality, in fact shit build quality way to heavy underpowered over weight ,shit suspension the list goes on.

Now the drz was given a hard time about such things but hell its a million times the bike the crf ever could be. Its the biggest bike mistake I've ever made. Wish I'd never read all the utter bollox written about it on here.

I’ve owned my 2014 R1200GS LC from new and it’s still a near perfect bike for my needs. It’s quick, comfortable, and most importantly, still a lot of fun

As for rest of the two-wheeled stable, they’re all pedal powered with no e-bike assistance (one tandem, two MTB’s, one CX and two racing bikes) and I love my Cannondale Synapse Carbon even more than my GS My tandem made a very brief appearance on BBC2 recently though on Tom Kerridge’s Top of the Shop

still looking to do the guided tour if you dont kill me first sent you a pm a couple of weeks ago ?

crf just needs a few minor tweeks like new suspension and a new 32hp engine
