A mate and me have got our EXCs over at Nomad at the minute. The video shows the 2017 on model, we have left our 2015 models with him so they can produce a kit for the 2012 - 2016 models. They are a father and son business with a real passion for bikes and we have found them to be very professional. Hopefully ours should be done in the next few weeks - can't wait! Had this photo come through today showing tower, screen and infill panels.

Similar to what they do for the Husqvarna FE501 and 701 Enduro. They look very nice.
Are these bikes suitable for long distance travel? They don't have much oil in the engine
and would be a pain stopping every couple of 1000kms to change the oil...

Depends what sort of travel I suppose. I did nearly 2000 miles on mine last October, mainly on the TET, through Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Holland, France and then home. The bike was perfect (unlike the two CCMs I went with that had to be recovered back to the factory) but then most of what I did was either on tracks or smaller roads - I had a 690 before the 500 and the 500 is so much easier off the tarmac. I did change the oil in Montenegro but I really don't think there was any need as it was still a nice golden colour but I wouldn't want to go over 2000 miles on the same oil. I did have a couple of 300 mile days crunching some miles on A roads and motorways and the bike was fine. It sits at 75 mph quite happily and will hit 90 mph quite easily although it does start to feel a bit skittish at higher speeds.
I wouldn't want to have the 500 as an only bike as a lot of main road travel would become tiresome but as an lightweight travel bike for tracks and B roads it's fantastic. I did have a Highways Dirt Bike screen on it but the wind / rain protection was a bit limited that's why I've gone for the Nomad option. We are going back to the Balkans this September so will be able to see if I've done the right thing!

I like the bashplate tool box combo :)
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Suzuki DR200 Djebel.
