So today I chopped in my F800gs and bought a Husqvarna 701
But I do need some mods as I have little legs.... So have bought a lowering kit that the dealer is going to fit for me to bring it down 40mm.
The question is the side stand. No bring the bike seat down 40mm is going to result in the stand being too high. I noted ith the dealer that the super moto stand is smaller and may fit in its place..
Does anyone have any experience in this, i dont fancy chopping the end of a brand new side stand.
Looking forward to getting my bike!!

Re: Husqvarna 701
well done, Paul
these days its a lot easier to part ex, than go through the stress of advertising
and the rates seem to be pretty good too.
With my crf250L I `managed` for ages with a long side stand after I lowered it
but it was too dangerous that way
and I took the plunge and had it cut lower
so, i would say just get it sorted for yourself by chopping the brand new side stand
(and worry about selling it later)

What a great choice of bike. So much more exciting and interesting than an F800. As to the sidestand, yes just get it shut and cut and look out for one from a breaker when it comes up.Cone wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 5:26 pm So today I chopped in my F800gs and bought a Husqvarna 701

Re: Husqvarna 701
My spies tell me that demand for clean late bikes is pretty high at the moment. Some sources suggest dealers are giving, on average (whatever that might mean) up to £1000 more for a part-ex than they would have done a couple of years ago for a bike of equivalent age/condition.
Maybe it's because PCP deals are tending to keep people 'captive' within a single marque network...and, because of PCP, dealers have a vested interest in keeping the residuals of 'their' make as high as possible. A used BMW, for example, is always worth more (buying and selling) at a BMW dealer.
Re: Husqvarna 701
I almost bought the 701 ,my head overruled.....I like to think because of the height (it is tall) but really it's the bonkers power
When I demo'd the CCM & tried the 17" wheel SM version without the side stand being swapped it was impossible to put it down, I wish I had available the discrepancy between my 17 & 21 stands which might help but the bike isn't lowered, it's purely the difference between a 17 & 21 front rim.
Measure it, get it chopped & have fun

Nice one, hope you enjoy it, sat on one couple years ago and felt really agile......have always liked them
Re: Husqvarna 701
The SM one is 306mm (#7650302300033) but no length for the Enduro one (#2700302300033) so you'll have to measure lol
