Biker friendly campsite/Bunkhouse/B&B in France

Post by scottnet »

Hi, I am looking for two places for overnight stops in France
1) Some where around Cognac or Jonzac +- 300 miles or 5 Hours south of St Malo
2) At the start of the Pyrenees near the Spanish border closet town is Larrau

Any updates on good sites to use or personal knowledge always very welcome ..

Thanks

Daveuprite and ChunkyButt are probably your best bets for this as it’s their areas.

Yep, happy to help.

It's slightly N.E. of Cognac, but this is the absolute best place for a tired, thirsty biker to spend the night in Central/SW France:

...and it's about a comfortable 5 hour ride down from St Malo.

As to the French/Spanish border, I don't have detailed knowledge of B&Bs but I usually cross near Bagnerre De Bigorre, which would be a good overnight stop, as would Oloron Ste Marie ( a bit further West).

Hi Scottnet

You'll find it easy to pick up somewhere to stay in the Larrou region as you're venturing into ski station area...which will have accommodation readily available mostly all year round.

A stop off at any tourist office before the end of the day will let you see what's closest to where you are. They'll speak English and book it for you.

If you need any advice on routes I play in the Aragon and Navarre region as well as dept 64/65 France...

All the best

:D

If you are camping....we stop at the municipal camp site at Cognac, it's on the Charente river going around north of the city.

Tim and I just had a fab few days bashing around the Limousin region, France. We stayed with Chris at motobreaks https://motobreaks.com/ motobreaks@gmail.com. Its really a very good base for the area and Chris is a great host .

We have also stayed at JAX Shack and would highly recommend both these locations for some great riding and fab facilities
