I read all these posts on here and find them interesting one thing I haven't seen though is the kit that you can get for them .... I've seen minky as done the complete 300 engine change but I've not seen any of you out there get a kit on the exciting engine which gets the power increased quite a bit I feel it as to be the best mod ... so iam sat wondering to myself why have none of you done this mod ... ?????? Or is it you just don't no about the 305cc conversion kit for the crf250l ... Ive looked a lot into the change and it looks to be ok and cheaper than sourcing another engine especially if you do your own work. It seems like the best modification without changing and engine from the videos as long as you can withstand watching the video and at the price it's at it seems

read a lot on it you aint finished with just the kit ..throttle bodys crank position sensors and fuel controlers counterbalence issues will bang another 250/300 on top ....the reliability is somwhat patchy
the engines came in at around 750 quid with ecu and throttle bodies tbo by the time you have got everything you need and put the time in im not sure the big bore is worth the hassle ...i sold the 250l engine on ebay for 500 quid so really it only cost 250quid to swap out

the 300r are quoted at 31hp so the 27 at the wheel seems right and have a much much better tourque curve than the wr 250r ot the kwaker ..and compare very close with dr350 which is a good thing

i dont think its worth the hassle reliability is somwhat patchy have a read here ..i suspect you want somthing faster any way have a look ..you aint going to end up with a raging beast whichever way you jump ..its still a relitivle small engine ..but its far more gutsy lower down i stick with themas they make very good long distance mini adv bikes the gearbox helps it alot ...if your keeping local and want summet with more zip without enduo bike maintanace a drz would fit the bill for around the same money ?? change the gearing and you can do some weekend stuff as well

I think WillS's bike came with the power boost kit you get from Adventure Spec. I ride his bike up in the Pyrenees last October - thanks Will! Although I haven't ridden a 'normal' CRF it certainly had more low down torque - more useful than actual horse power IMHO - than I expected. It even felt pokey compared to my 650 X-Country that I'd been riding all day!

The bike is 2013 and came fitted with the FMF Silencer / Exhaust, MegaBomb header and the EJK unit. The airbox had also be drilled and opened up for better airflow.
The first thing you notice is the sound, that's much better than the standard CRF unit. I believe that a few kgs of weight are also saved with this mod.
I have ridden a standard CRF and with the modifications you can feel the extra low down torque and a more smoother pull from low revs, also seems to be a little more power at the top end.
The CRF250L is a great little dual-sport Bike, and great value for money, brings a smile on your face every time you ride it.

Steve will be bringing his KTM 450!! So have the fire extinguishers at the ready!!
It is a different one from the last escapade on the RB1 from Bossôst.
But you never know with these "Lithium Batteries" and KTM

It certainly will be a great weekend! If Steve's bringing another Katey maybe we should ask Alan for details of old Civil War trenches, air raid shelters, etc. loads of them around there, to take refuge every time he 'fires' up.

I've seen posts that say the cbr300 motor's gears aren't suitable for off road. Is that the case? Or are that talking rubbish.?
