A lot of people find it difficult to ride the places they want to on there own bike simply because they don't have the time off to get there. After all if you want to see Georgia or beyond from the uk you have 6 days of hard slog either way before you see the good stuff. So I had a brilliant idea!! Well I thought so.
I will collect and ride your bike from the UK to Bulgaria or any other destination or airport of your choice for the cost of doing it. It would obviously depend on cheap flights ( I fly into the UK for as little as Β£2 50.) and of course I would have to be included on your insurance.
It would also mean that unlike shipping your bike you could keep using the bike right up until 5 days before you fly.
What's not to like?
Brilliant Idea.

Re: Brilliant Idea.
I thought about doing this for people coming to Spain, my only concern would be who is responsible for parts/labour etc in the event of a breakdown/puncture?

That's a great idea. Also I'm quite jealous. They do that in America with cars I think.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Re: Brilliant Idea.
I would say the owner is, you/me are simply delivering the bike. You could even GPS the trip as evidence that you have not ragged it all the way.
Re: Brilliant Idea.
How would this pressed-for-time, fake Adventure rider get his precious bike back to The UK?
Would you ride it back?
I can just imagine the shit State his bike would be in as you throw your leg over it to ride up to 2000 miles, after all he's too tight to use Bulgaria Bike shipping, so I can't see his routine maintenance and trip preparation being top notch.
Most folk who give a shit about their bike wouldn't want it ridden to Bulgaria and back miles by a stranger.
Plus, can you imagine if you had to ride something like a CRF250L or a Serrow from Newcastle to Bulgaria?
You'd have chucked it into a bush by the time you'd got to York and hitched back home.

Re: Brilliant Idea.
How about arranging storage for someone's bike which they have ridden themselves from the UK, they could fly home and fly back later to continue their trip?
For us to get 5 or 6 weeks off work/older parents is difficult but we could do a series of 2 or 3 week holidays between May and October allowing us to do Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia etc etc at a slightly slower pace than just ticking the box.

Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.

Re: Brilliant Idea.
Well yes of course this would also work. I could even for a few quid meet said rider at the airport. Form and orderly que. But as I have posted on here many times we have a spare room and large garage so anyone is welcome. We live 2 hours form the Turk boarder and 1 hour from the Romanian boarder.Tonibe63 wrote: βTue Jan 30, 2018 11:32 am How about arranging storage for someone's bike which they have ridden themselves from the UK, they could fly home and fly back later to continue their trip?

Re: Brilliant Idea.
And we are 2hrs 20mins from Barcelona El Prat and 1hr from Reus airports, with an empty 5 car garage and a 2 bedroom farmhouse to rent. Airport transfers available. This puts you 2 days riding from the ferry to Africa, 90 mins from the Pyrenees and 5hrs from the Picos.

Re: Brilliant Idea.
Easy tiger, what are you basing your character assassination on? Your in sin orating I am some power crazy nutter going to mercilessly rag some one elses pride and joy across EuropeSteveW wrote: βTue Jan 30, 2018 9:49 am How would this pressed-for-time, fake Adventure rider get his precious bike back to The UK?

You got shares in Bularia shipping Steve? They are of course another solution.
Insinuating that just because someone has his bike ridden to an interesting location to start his or her adventure is a bit rich coming from some one who has van'd his bike out here several times. It just makes sense if you only have a week to ride some where interesting and not have to slog across Europe as a lot of us have done many times. This fake adventure rider may then have time to traverse the Taurus mountains or to reach the good stuff in Georgia off road for a "real adventure"
As I said if your on a gps for the entire trip this "stranger" is n't going to be f...kin around.
But I am guessing your not a fan of my brilliant idea? But of course knowing you own a CCM I would have declined your application any
