Snowdonia, Wales, UK off road in the snow ☃️

Post by linssen »

A few weeks ago it snowed. It snowed a lot. A couple of us rode our GSs from London to Wales to go trail riding through that, mostly because we're idiots.

I have to say, it was totally gruelling getting there; the snow was forecast light, and we figured we're adventure types, it'll be fine. Riding through thick snow in the dark is horrible. I've not done it before, and because you can only see flakes coming towards you, the sensation is that you're not moving. I got super travel sick, which is also new to me. It's also (obviously) slippy as hell. Should have been 4.5h, took 10h, and I felt bobbins when we arrived.

BUT! The days riding on Saturday was absolutely stunning. You take it easy on the roads, and the trails aren't that much different than they usually are. Snowdonia beautiful as it is, but in the snow it was extra special.

We took a drone, and got some really nice photos and vids. I spent some time cutting it together recently. 👊✊❄️

Great footage and so well edited. I really like the shot at 1:23

Full marks for taking such heavy bikes up there into the snow.

Thanks for posting. Great video (and the riding skills are not bad either).

That looks fabulous. Is much (or any) of that route part of the TET route?

Brilliant video!

Heading back to Wales again this year for the Welsh Road Race but I'll definitely be on more of the tarmac stuff

That look difficult enough just watching it - but it looked great! 8-)

Thanks for sharing 8-)

It takes in a bit of the route around there, yea. There's so much you could spend weeks just bimbling around Wales. My favourite place yet for riding, good to be with someone who knew where to go, since the big bikes can get into bother.

Yea, we stopped off for lunch there. Apparently you used to be able to ride the bridge across? That would be an amazing way to see it.

It's a DJI Spark - was a present to me, from me this Christmas. This was it's first outing, so there's a ton to learn. So fun having out there though, and loved it's follow me shots.
