I’d recommend Brienz as it’s cheaper than Interlaken and much prettier than Andermatt. It still has great access to the Furka/Grimsel/Susten passes and is also close to the Jungfraujoch railway and Grindelwald valley 8-)

Lovely little B&B

That looks like heaven!
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Switzerland is expensive but if your camping its ok eating out can cost too so we camped for 7 or the 8 days we stayed and cooked our own meals.

If you are around Interlaken check out the waterfall inside the mountain its the only one in the world and it really was great to see, cant remember its name but it was in the valley of a hundred waterfalls near Interlaken where we also saw base jumpers in action. When we stayed in Interlaken we got a card that gave us discount on the train ride up to see the four peaks it was really good.

When we did are trip we were surprised by how different the North and south were we crossed from the B500 in Germany and headed down.

When working out distances and times of travel be warned it will always take longer sometimes much longer as you cant help but stop take pictures and soak it up.

+ 1 on this, we learnt the hard way twice, and left us with long days.

I'd agree with that. North side hills, forests and grass; some of the best, and best manicured grass you'll ever see  South mountains and rocks.
I'm generalising obviously but the difference did strike me.

We did the B500 on the way home and found it a bit of a let down after the full-on experience of Switzerland, so my advice would be do the B500 first as a warm up ;)

Luckily we had a heads up from Mr Mosel biker on here who advised us to use the B500 as a main road to link up all the other L and K roads that run through the Black Forest.
