EDC 2017 Maroc Ride Report
Re: EDC 2017 Maroc Ride Report
Great write up Keith. I assume everyone got home with no dramas. I froze my nads off on the way back from Portsmouth to Zummerzet despite having ALL my clothes on ... one clear downside of travelling 'ultra-light'. I dropped the CRF into my local back-street bike workshop to get the clutch sorted last weekend. Hopefully I have it back and be out on some local trails this weekend BAAAAAAA!

OMG a Tenere that wouldn't start, The team of Goats (Greg) comes to the rescue and traces it to a faulty spark plug, the second bike on this trip to suffer the same plight . Lots of fake NGK's on the market fleabay apparently .

Re: EDC 2017 Maroc Ride Report
So..........we ride south tto Midelt via some great twisties and long sweeping open roads.....
We arrive, check in after parking the motos in the confines of the courtyard.....in true goat fashion they all park too close to each other and have to squeeze past mirrors and handlebars........we get ready for the evening meal. Strangely enough there's tagine on the menu...
Justin reserved two plates....
Christophe takes good pics for being a goat...erm.......well he should; he's a pro photographer........I often wonder why he's hooked up with us.....there'll be a few more later.
The bill is squared up the next day and we ride out, fuel up and head south to the Ziz Valley, after each rider leaves a few coppers with the man who looks after the motos.
Rob forgot his moto...weirdo...
We stop for some snaps and to take in the scenery....
I watched an old copy of Fiesta blow by into the rocks and four of them rushed over giggling to try and catch it to no avail....they return somewhat deflated...
They were happy after being told there'd be a tea stop soon....

We stop for tea at a place I know and where we're met with smiles as usual from the staff.....there's also a fuel pump next door.
A handshake and a smile goes a long way here........learn to do it.
Some kids arrive and we take a few snaps after handing out some pens and lollipops....each pen given will give them another couple of hundred pages of learning..........learn to do it.
Al frightened the children with his hairstyle.................
............they tentatively whispered and questioned me as to what was the story with Al's hairstyle. I circled the side of my head with my index finger and told them he was depriving a village of an idiot and shrugged my shoulders..............then they understood with a laugh
We ride on and stop for lunch knowing we'll be in Merzouga for the afternoon.
Nice hair.....
Fatboy omelettes were ordered by some.....

Re: EDC 2017 Maroc Ride Report
We stop at a hectic busy town just past some salt mining I know for tea/coke stop.... it's always busy and makes great for watching the world go by......there's parking at the rear if the street is too busy.........some goats can't get with the money conversions.........the extra zero they see on bills makes them think that when they dish out 20MAD that it's like 20 quid....it's only....... 1.60GBP
We crew up, two riders get lost within a minute ( baaaaaa ) and ride on stopping for a cheap lunch at road side services. The riders arrive to face ridicule.
A smile and a handshake go a long way as Bob who also owns one of those Hardley D things, tried to currie favour with the manager so he could swap his MCC 650
A bidding war starts when Al joins in to swap his Yamaha XTZ1200
