Just came down through last week. At the top, Ponte de Lima is a lovely town with a great ride in. After that you can head to Pinhao which takes you through the Duoro Valley which is great riding. Porto is a great city after that. Didn't do much in central Portugal and headed straight to the Algarve - there's the N2 road north of Loule which has about 35km of twistys (comes through the Parque Natural do Vale I think). Have fun

For your first post I'd here thought you might like to be a bit more specific

Torre de Moncorvo is top of my list if you are going through the Douro valley. Just spent a couple of nights there. It's a beautiful unspoilt medieval town which comes alive after 9.30pm when the locals come out to play. Easy to miss as its set back from the road.
Now back on the Santander ferry and on a come down....where's the bar?

Serra da Estrela is all you want. Great scenery, great twisty roads, great food and wine, endless off road trails, cheap and good accommodation...
