Just wondering if any other E1 users have found that opening / closing the visor scratches it badly?
I have had my lid for a year - and progressively, the very top 75mm of the visor have scratched so badly that you can't see through it. The est of its fine - its literally a band of scratching across the very top of the visor.
Its not really an issue when riding per se - but it looks shit - and and I wonder if it will effect the strength of the visor in an accident?
Is it just me? Replacements are about £65 :S
Sadly, am unable to offer up a photo just now, as am away from home for a bit.

Re: Schuberth E1 visor scratching problem?
It's a great lid - I really like it - took a little while to 'break in' but have done several thousands of miles in it now.
I've abandonded the peak, as it was faffy, and wobbled at higher motorway speeds, regardless of what I did with it, or my screen.
The springs in the hinges have weakened off a bit, so the visor will shut itself over about 65mph
And the scratching thing - which apparantly a few other lids do as well...
Strong points are - its quiet - especially with the peak off.
The paint work is extremely robust and looks as good as the day it arrived
Its very comfy
My Sena 20S works great with it
The Sun visor works really well
The venting is great
The buckle closure thingy works great and shows no sign of wear
The padding and materials are lasting really well
(thumbs)

Re: Schuberth E1 visor scratching problem?
Just checked my E1 and no such problems. I did notice on mine when used on dusty trails crap would collect in / under the top seal lip, it seemed to have a but of lube stuff on when new so dust just stuck to it! Just a guess but if grit is wedged under there it could cause an issue?
Gave it a good clean and have no issues now! Hope you get it sorted!
