Best multi tool?

Post by Brenhden »

Hi all,
I've had a Leatherman since I was 13 and 6 months ago I lost it. Today I found and I've realized it's too precious to me to loose again so I need a replacement.
What is the best multi tool out there. I want it to last forever and have a good blade and pliers. Are Gerber better?
Cheer all

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Always used a Leatherman Wave. Never had any problem or issues with it, still like new after nearly 15 years.
Plenty of cheaper ones on the market today, but not sure of the quality.
Sorry you lost your Leatherman, that's a bummer!! :(

I bought a Leatherman Wave around the turn of the Century, still in perfect condition and used regularly. Goes into every trip bag.

Try and find the same model... ;)

I am sure that the later versions have improved features but... On ebay, 2nd hand multitools are described as "retired"!

I am on my second Leatherman Supertool 200 now, the first bought in the US in 2000 was worked out after 8-9 years (retired!). Built like a brick outhouse and as heavy, but it does serious work every day. Sits on my hip and I feel lost without it in short time. (thumbs)

Try this for anoraks!! https://forum.multitool.org/

Always gonna be a Leatherman... just get another.
I have one I have had on my work belt for almost 15 years and another 4 or 5 dotted about, everyone of them is great.
Just got a Leatherman Signal - it is a great bit of kit. (thumbs)

I've had a wave for 10 years or so - seems to be the best general purpose one out there.
