CCM 644 DS

Post by FMFox »

For sale is a 2002 CCM 644 DS. Comes with both trail and SM wheels
£1800 NO OFFERS
18300 Miles on the clock
I will put 12 months MOT on once sold.
Good working order.
Almost new Maxxis Maxxicross Tyres on Trail wheels
Almost New wavy front disc
The CCM 644DS has the twin carb version of the Suzuki DR650 motor (from the Freewind) and WP (KTM) suspension. In my opinion it's about perfect for going on an adventure off the beaten track. (Just needs a larger fuel tank)
I first listed this bike in February however then became very busy at work so did not proceed with sale.
I do not want to sell either set wheels separately
There is a rack for carrying soft bags available for an extra £100 (£150 if sold separately)

Any info on other clean examples you know of?
(Since the CCM 450 there's a bit of interest in these 'rare and unknown British bikes' on some of the French forums I write on )

They do crop up fairly regularly WIBO, as for clean examples they get a fair bit of abuse as SM bikes. However, parts are cheap and plentiful, easy to work on, apart from some pretty quirky wiring they are a great Dual Sport bike to have with a shed load of grin factor (thumbs)

I've had 3 644's over the years and they are very good trail bikes that can do reasonable road mileage. Mine were used for UK rallies and greenlaning with mates on enduro bikes so they were abused and suffered the wear and tear expected of a 150kg bike keeping up with KTM exc' s ie wheelbearings/rear shock etc.
As standard they are no match for a Tenere in terms of seat comfort/wind protection/luggage capacity but they are steel framed so could be adapted to suit, however the 644's ride much lighter and can do the more technical climbs that are no longer legal in the UK.
Open your eyes and you see what is in front of you, open your mind and you see a bigger picture but open your heart and you see a whole new World.
