Re: Norway
I've been talking about going to the Nordkapp for a few years now and did recently read somewhere that a new direct ferry route was opening or re-opening from the UK. I'll keep putting it off until that ferry appears.

Re: Norway
I did the run up to Nordkapp last August.
I'd rather ride than sit on a ferry so I went from Harwich to Hook of Holland, through Germany, Denmark, Sweden and into Norway 2,200 miles door-to-door. Then back through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands for a total of just over 4,500 miles in 10 days.
Now I just need to go back with more time to see all the things I missed!

Re: Norway
There are no direct ferries between UK and Norway. The quickest way is to get from UK toollydog wrote:sorry i don't quite follow the reply, would be nice to avoid the low countries and get right to the good stuff

France/ Holland/ your choosen destination mainland Europe, then drive to Hirtshals at the tip of Denmark and catch the ferry to Kristiansand.
I have done the Hirtshals >Calais run many times (by car packed for holiday with kids and dog) in about 14 hours (with stops). Although we always tend to break the return journey up in to two days because of the ferry times.
