Donegal day trip

Bank holiday so i headed across the border to Malin Head to escape the traffic and do some of the Wild Atlantic Way.

As usual Donegal looks stunning. Not long now before I travel over for the ABR rally, so if the weather is kind, I may well explore a bit more of Donegal as well.

I've just returned from a weeks trip to Ireland and found Donegal, other than around Malin Head, to be a bit disappointing. It was surprisingly built up (bungalows everywhere) and didn't have a real sense of wilderness, unlike the area around Westport and Kerry once further south.

Have to agree Sven.Huge sections of Donegal fell prey to the Celtic Tiger economic boom of the '90s and '00s.whoever was in charge of rural planning in those years should have been jailed!

Just go inland about a half a mile form the coast and you will find the real Donegal

Well i was only there for a few hours and enjoyed myself a lot. The Mamore gap alone beats riding around Triangle area which is strangled with bank holiday traffic or the coast road.
