Recommend me a paddock stand

Just bought an oxford paddock stand and it's going back tomorrow. The thing is as flimsy as hell and it's only lifting a BMW G650 Xcountry.

Can anyone recommend something a bit more sturdy / substantial?

Harris performance paddock stands are ace. I can move my bike forwards or backwards in the garage whilst it's still on the pair of stands. They're not cheap, but made to last.

I've had an Abba stand for various bikes over the years. Always liked it's ease of use and ruggedness. Not cheap but worth it.

Welded a few pieces of metal together, used an old timing belt from a car to cover the top to soften the connection to swing arm
Works like a charm
Service to back wheel and chain would be much easier from now on

Harris stands are the business. I've got about 15 stands hanging from the roof of my workshop but I only really use one, and it's the same Harris that I used while racing 18 years ago. Great quality.

For a bike like that, I'd get a step-up stand you can put under the engine and lift front, rear or both wheels, take the swing arm out etc.

An MX one won't be up to it, but a heavy duty one will.

I've got an Abba for my Mille, and a cheapo step-up MX job for the trail bikes.

Sorry, but that stand is lethal.
There is nothing to stop the bike falling off it and on top of you.
It needs locators to stop the bike moving sideways if (when) you nudge it.

I use an Abba super bike stand, an Abba lift arm which can raise the front, plus a Micron paddock stand for use with a Daytona. To service the Serow and Beta I use a Sealey MC5908 scissor stand.

Easy to use and robust. Abba offer a selection of adaptors so the one stand can be used with a variety of marques. Good after sales service too.
