Moto Guzzi Quota

Post by boboneleg »

Just browsing ebay and I came across this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moto-Guzzi-Qu ... SwB-1YpELV

I've only ever seen one of these on the road in all the time I've been riding. Anyone ever owned one?

Never seen one of those,
A friend of my Dad had the Le Mans 850 for a while never let me ride it though fantastic bike by all accounts. :( :(
Wonder if that would be one of those rare bikes that if you did a refurb on it it would appreciate and show a good return in few years.

Good find Bob, looks like a lot of different bikes put together, can't quite pick which one the most? Don't like the look of the front frame section though, bit weak!!

I had the same engine in a Le Mans and the valves/seats burnt out eventually but it was a hoot to ride. Build quality was how shall I put it....variable. I did a lot of miles on mine.

Hi, was that Towza who,had two off them? I bought his sidecar off him,an RX4, to put on my Cali.
I haven't owned a Quota but I have ridden one. They are tall, but other than that, which would not be a problem if you are over six foot, I thought they were an excellent bike. They seem to have even more torque than the bucket loads that other Guzzis have. I did not venture off road but on road the handling was great and the riding position was ideal for twisty lanes and town riding.
Those that owned them in the Guzzi club tend to think very highly off them. In some ways they are a better bike to,own that the Stelio. Certainly easier to work on and cheaper to maintain. A bit lie comparing an Airhead GS to an oil cooled one. They were more popular in Europe than over here. That seems a fair price to me.
Cheers Jak

Nice looking bike, not dissimilar to my tiger? Similar 90's styling.

What's surprising though, because of its 'modular' design, you can tune the tiger to be a 140+mph bike! Just by fitting Daytona/Sprint/Speed Triple cams, and re jetting the carbs, and the ecu from the same. Something I could do for less than a £100! Mmmm :P
