CCM 404 help please!

Hi, in process of rebuilding a CCM 400E and have a small issue with cooling fan wiring.
I need to know the location of a wire, ( last owner has messed with a wire)

Ok from the cooling fan we have 2 wires, BLUE & BLACK
Then into connector block, exiting block are 2 wires, RED / BLACK & RED / BLACK,
Then wire goe into wrapping and exit wrapping are 2 wires, BROWN & GREEN,
BROWN goes into harness behind headlamp and looks correct.
GREEN is problem, last owner had it bodged into RH indicator connector (green indicator wire) this had the fan on 100%.

So big question is where should this GREEN wire go to??..... My wiring diagram is not clear enough to distinguish...
So, if some one with a 404 could help me that would be wonderful

I've done that, just thought I would ask on here also........another "Iron in the fire" so to speak!

Vinny is about right with his suggestions...he knows them real well...ccm.wiring is always a birdsnest soup affair..

They should do a.masters degree in it lol...mines been pretty kind to me...

Yes, Vinny is a good help!...... Wiring is not my favourite subject!
The bike used to belong to me about 9 years ago and it was a good un! ..... A friend has picked it up for a song, and I have the job of rebuilding her, it does my head in when people bodge up wiring!
Never mind, it's nearly back together and looking good..... Just this wiring to sort.
Your right, CCM wiring is pain, I've owned 2 over the years and it's deffo the weak link.

I am guessing (not a clue about elecs) ..
that the bk/r wire (from the blocks) connects the fan to its thermos switch ..
that the bk wire (from the switch blocks) goes to the indicator relay middle pin?
that the r (from the fan block) goes to ignition switch but somehow changes to r/bk?

that's my best guess anyway?

Cheers Garyboy, that's probably the clearest wiring diagram, can make out things a bit better.

Ok I think I worked out what your setup is looking at my handbook but could be wrong.

The green goes to the right hand front indicator.
From the fan there should be 2 wires - Blue and Black - The Black and Red from the block connected to the cooling fan goes to the cooling fan thermostat switch.

From the fan the other wire which is Blue the fan side goes into the block exits as a Red wire straight to the ignition switch.


Ignition on - power on - when the thermostat cooling switching heats up it opens making the wire live - the live then turns the fan on and when the engine cools the thermostat switch closes again killing the live feed.

Sounds like the green wire is correct to the fronr right indicator however someone tapped into it instead of it going to the ignition and thermo switch

Hi Mike, thanks for your input, things are becoming clearer....( I think)
I need a live into the fan, which shouldn't be a problem,
I am wondering however, how I connect the other wire from the fan to the rad switch?
Wires from the rad switch currently go into the harness via a connector...
This is what's got me baffled.....
